Detailing here is not a valet with a different name. We decontaminate the paint, then machine polish to remove swirl marks and light clear-coat scratches. If a mark catches a fingernail it usually needs paint, not a pad – we will say so rather than polish something that will still be there.
An enhancement detail from £150 is a single-stage polish for cars that have gone dull but are not wrecked. Full paint correction from £350 is multi-stage work on heavier swirls and oxidation. Ceramic coating from £450 only goes on after the paint is actually correct. Coating a swirled car just locks the swirls in.

- A valet cleans the surface. Cosmetic detailing corrects the paint: machine polishing to remove swirls and light scratches, then protection so the finish lasts. We also decontaminate, clay and dress trim, glass and wheels.
- Not always. An enhancement detail from £150 is enough if the paint is in decent condition and you want gloss back. Ceramic coating from £450 sits on top of corrected paint and makes washing easier for longer. We will not sell coating onto paint that still needs correction.
- If a mark is only in the clear coat, yes – machine polishing is quicker and cheaper than a painted repair. If you can catch the scratch with a fingernail, it has usually gone through the clear coat and needs paint.
- A single-stage enhancement is typically a day. Multi-stage correction on a neglected or heavily swirled finish can take two to three days because each stage is inspected before the next.
